Chief Magistrate's Office, the 25th April 1856.

To your letter No 253 of 16th Instant, requesting that I will furnish any suggestions I may hereafter offer as to the plan of a New Police Court, the construction of which is now in contemplation. I have the honour to reply as follows:

The present arrangement of the Magistrate's duties renders it necessary, that for at least two days in each week, the Magistrates hold four courts at the Kowloon.
